Hiring decision are strategic decisions. This is not just due to the long term financial impact of hiring the right or wrong employees. In addition, every hiring decision has an immediate impact on an organizations human capital which is of critical importance when it comes to innovations and organizational performance in general. The first module addresses basic principles of human resource practices for high-performance organizations and myths in the area of selection and assessment.
Many organizations use selection methods that are not valid based on myths surrounding selection and recruitment. This CQ Dossier describes and challenges those myths and provides an overview of different selection approaches and their effectiveness to predict job performance.
